Frequently Asked Questions

We also wish to inform our customers of the steps they can take to keep their garments looking good, and to obtain the longest "life" of their garments. Therefore, we are listing some of the most frequently asked questions regarding dry cleaning.

Q. What are some ofthe benefits of dry cleaning my garments instead of caring for them myself?Among the benefits of dry cleaning are the use of solvents to remove soils and stains from fabrics. Dry cleaning dissolves grease and oils in a way water can't. Dry cleaning also avoids the shrinkage that can occur with wool and silk when they are washed with water. Professional dry cleaners also provide finishing services that give garments a crisp and wrinkle-free appearance.

Q. Should I have all coordinating pieces cleaned together?Definitely! As professional dry cleaners, we can never be certain of the type of dye and/or sizing a manufacturer has used. Quality standards in foreign countries are not always as high as we are accustomed to. if all coordinating pieces are cleaned together, the color and sheen will always match. This rule also applies to bedroom ensembles and drapery treatments.

Q. Should I store my clothing in the bags you return them in?The bags are designed protect your clothing until you arrive home. Fabric needs to "breathe". It is best to store the garments uncovered or in fabric garment bags.

Q. What is the average life span of a shirt?Industry experience shows that shirts have a two year wear-life expectancy. However, the number of times a shirt is laundered is a more accurate measuring method. the typical shirt has a wear life of 35-50 washings. This also varies depending on the amount of abrasion and strain placed on a shirt during wear, the fiber content, the type of fabric and the laundering process.

Q. Why do shirt buttons seem to crack or break so often?Buttons may break during the finishing process despite us keeping our press padding in excellent condition. Most buttons are made from a polyester resin. The life of the buttons also depends on the amount of resin; some importers choose not to use the highest quality buttons..
